There is already a contest going on among web directories to find out which directory is the best directory around on the internet. That other directory is metioned on the directorycontest.com page within the odproject review website.

This is not really a contest but more a measurement to see what directory has better rankings. For instance at the DirectoryRanking website there is a constant monitoring of the search engine results in three mayor search eninges, Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Several web directories have already participated in this ranking project, what was started over at the digitalpoint forums by the member !Ask!, he also runs a few directories which are also competing in this directory ranking project. At the moment it seems ewebpages directory has gotten the numer 1 position in Google Search Engine.

The interesting part of this ranking project is that it only involves directories and that if this web page would rank in google for `directoryranking.com´ this would not be entered in the ranking overview.

With these contests and ranking projects going on it good to see there´s movement in the directory field towards better quality web directories. It good to see also AliveDirectory has joined this ranking project, hopefully the directory ranking list will provide a good list of quality web directories.
